Moneygall - small village, now gone global with a live witness account 'n pics too

We are really happy that You saw the Village that as you very well said has become global now, during your recent Ireland trip.

In fact in his speech to 50,000 people outside the Trinity College, President Obama said "'I'm Barack Obama, of the Moneygall Obamas".

It was a great 3 days of security drills and military tanks and vehicles every where (esp) around the Dublin Airport and seeing the Air Force One land and take off ,along with a decoy aircraft of the USAF and another aircraft of Delta airways for the staffs and reporters covering the Trip.

The most interesting was seeing the loud Boeing c 17 Globe master that transports all the vehicles and equipment's for the Presidents travel along with the Cherokee helicopter.

Really great to see all this, in a once a life opportunity.

President Obama had to leave the same night to UK because of the "Volcanic Ash" scare from Iceland.

There are two type of people in society: those who look back at their roots and those who wouldn't.

I think even Kennedy family of US had strong Irish roots. But we never saw them going to Ireland like Obama. I don't blame Kennedys. I wonder if I would do it !

My roots are at a place in Kottayam called Pallam. I have never been to that place to revisit my past. If not in a Cadillac flown from Calicut, at least in my WAGON-R driven from Puthiyara!!
