Podcasts - Hearing is learning (Click on the image)

As part of our Major Research Project (www.ewsrl.com), podcasts have been introduced. Inspiring Expressions (II Sem General English) has been selected. Click on the image, choose a poem, listen to its summary and view related images. Thanks to convergence of media, a new experience (combining touch technology, sight and sound) could be created.

Podcasts have been around ever since Dave Winer & Adam Curry patented the word in 2009. The immensely popular iPod by Apple made it even more famous. Nowadays, there are podcasts for every possible interest and endeavor. Some even are the brainchild and passion of a few persons operating out of a small lab. I hope that this project of ours will be fruitful and be useful to countless students spread over Northern parts of Kerala.

According to the University of Calicut website (spread over from Pulpally to Nadapuram to Nilambur to Irinjalakuda),, there are 275 UG Colleges. (source http://www.cuonline.ac.in/?page_id=111) Assuming that there are atleast 5 degree courses in each college (MCC has 8) these podcasts have the potential to reach out to over 55,000 students. Please forward to as many students as possible so that they too can benefit and come out in flying colors.  

What a wonderful way to spread education to different areas, especially rural areas. Harnessing the power of the Internet and using  mobile technology, Project fellow, Subin Varghese and Saigeetha S of  Malabar Christian College have been hard at work. Thanks also to Google and Canva too.

Enhancing the ENGLISH language in rural areas and making fine citizens out of them is what the UGC intends from my project and I strongly believe that 'the right pathis being taken'
