The origin of a river.

Olichi Waterfall, Varavur, Wadakkancherry

The source of the river, the starting point where the waters converge to form a mighty waterfall. This was our destination. We trekked out into the forest, through narrow paths marked out only by a small trail left by the previous trekkers. Very soon we heard the gushing of the waterfall. We knew we were on the right track. All our travails ended and we gunned for the point from where we could hear the noise. Very soon, lo and behold, the majestic water cascading down the rocks.

When most people see a picture of a waterfall, they probably see a place of calm beauty that could be part of a paradise. On the other hand, waterfalls are actually chaotic in nature. If you ever fell over the edge of a tall waterfall, it wouldn't be the most pleasant experience.
